PETER DAVIES

Kerry Davies' room

MY ROOM

The room is the lounge at the front of the house. The view is from the door into the room, looking left to right.

Starting at the left, there is a large bay window with a modern white frame and tied back cream curtains. In front of the window is an old style cream sofa with curved arm rests. Next to the sofa is a wooden TV cabinet with a black widescreen TV on top. To the left of the TV is a silver standard lamp with a square cream shade.
On the wall above the TV is a square wooden framed print of a modern painting. The image is various square shapes in black, orange, white and blue on a grey background. The wall is creamy white and is set back from the fireplace.
Moving right, there is a large open fireplace with a light green wall surrounding it. There is a chunky wooden mantle piece and surround. The inner fireplace has a black surround with Art Nouveau style decoration. The tiles on the sides are dark maroon with yellow and green flower motifs. A tall silver coal bucket stands to the right on a black tiled grate.
On the mantle piece there are four small candle holders. Two are red glass, one is clear glass and one is wooden. Standing together on the right are two very tall, thin red candles in small silver holders.
Above the mantle piece is a very large rectangular mirror with a wooden frame. In the mirror there is a reflection of a large painting of a busy African village scene.
There is wooden flooring with an ornate Turkish carpet in front of the fireplace.
Moving right, there is another recessed wall. Again this wall is creamy white. Here, at right angles to the fireplace, is a short, black upright piano with a black piano stool. On the piano there are music sheets open on the sheet holder and a tall, hourglass shaped, dark wooden table lamp with a cream shade.
On the recessed wall, to the right of the fireplace, is a rectangular wooden framed print of a painting. It is portrait and shows an old village scene with a lone figure on a path going towards a church with trees and fields in greens, blues and pinks.
